The door to the 18th century Portuguese delegation has had the same cobwebs on it for the past ten years. It is down a narrow lane behind the battlements on the Atlantic seacoast of Essouira, Morocco.
I always come back to look at it to see if anything has changed....
It never has.

After almost three years it's lovely to be back in Marrakesh....

What a positive orgy and wallow in all that is sentimental and Hallmark card-ish!
Such gift wrapped hearts with ribbons and cellophane.

I walk down 22nd Street every morning on my way to the dog run.
This morning I noticed that something had backed into a fire department metal something-or-other thingy.
The metal was so twisted that I thought I would take a picture of it --but then, as you know, I'll take a picture of almost anything. So...
on my way home I pass the Meulensteen Gallery and peruse the current exhibition --or, anyway, I look in the window.
Shortly after that, I found a decorated/tattooed pig's trotter on the street. Buster was pretty interested, though I didn't let him get near it. Obviously someone had spent time making it. I have deleted the picture since it was very ugly.
Then I chatted to some construction workers who I don't think are particularly interested in art. (Thank God). The man on the left rescues mastiffs and has rescue chickens and goats near Exit 66.
Just for the fun of it -- a very cool giraffe made at middle school by the daughter of a friend....

One wonders, sometimes, what blogging is for. I suppose it is an entertainment, a diversion, a diary, a way to connect. Unlike a website which offer useful information, a blog just is.

No one has to look at it, that's the beauty of it. You can just say: Gosh, that's boring..... and on to the next.
Anyway, I got a new phone app this week called Hipstamatic. What joy a new gadget brings --hours of merry tinkering.

So I rushed round the house taking pictures of everything --well, mostly my messy study....the Frontline stickers! The stapler!

Even the very cheap Home Depot lamp looks sort of arty, and how romantic the modem! No doubt the excitement will wear off, but for now its sort of fun.

Butternut squash is a particularly lovely color inside. Roast it for about half an hour, then it is easy to get out of its rind.
Mix it with sauteed onion....
and potato and maybe a carrot and some stock and a little bit of curry paste. Blend it.
A sprig of parsley or cilanto makes a good color contrast.
They are preparing for a new art show on 22nd Street. What reflections on a bright morning! The guy on the cell phone is missing it --but then he is having a very important conversation. Maybe he is.
The attendants from the Cerebral Palsy day-care help their charges onto the mini bus that takes them home.
Ah, the delights of the bus! How important it is to have something to do...
