The poor pansies probably deserved better than to be hammered -- though just tastefully shrivelling up is a bit dull.
Their ghosts are fragmentary and imperfect
with little bits of plant matter adhered to them.
Such a bashing and thumping!
and this last residue a bit like a fabric my mother might have worn in the 50's of the last century.....
